I have been teaching for 10 years. This is my second year at SLU Lab School. Before I began teaching here, I decided to be a stay-at-home mom for six years. I received my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Northeast Louisiana University. I received my Master of Education in Special Education from Southeastern Louisiana University. I am currently completing my +30 from Southeastern.

Literature Requirements

All students must read a minimum of 1000 pages each nine weeks.

All books must be on at least a 3.5 grade reading level with a minimum of 100 pages.

A minimum of 2 A.R. tests will be taken each nine weeks.

Reading Genres

1st nine weeks - Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Mystery

(Students must read at least two books from the above Genres.)

2nd nine weeks - Historical Fiction/Historical Non Fiction& Informational/How to/ Self Improvement

(Students must read at least two books from the 2nd nine weeks' genres.)

3rd nine weeks - Poetry, Newbery, Realistic Fiction/Fiction

(Students must read at least two books from the 3rd nine weeks' genres.)

4th nine weeks - Classic & Autobiography/Biography

(Students must read at least two books from the 4th nine weeks' genres.)
